Nevertheless, I will comment on Bill O'Reilly's interview of Dennis Miller, comedian.
Dennis Miller makes Bill O'Reilly look...like a "fair and balanced" interviewer. Dennis Miller makes Jonathan Swift look...like a satirist.
I could go on, but it was all about Dennis Miller and... hate and... lame at that. Except for one laugh: "I don't know why people say things out loud sometimes. I think maybe..."

Speaking of lame: Rachel Maddow is spoofed on SNL. I don't know if it is just me, the characters or the writers, but it was not so funny. Maybe it is hard to spoof someone who is funny and doing a good job, without needing to do an even better job. Burris may even fall into that category, but it could be just in comparison toBlog-oy-ya-bleep.

Benched Man Award

Former CIA Director/Author Tenet deserves another award. Slam Dunk Tenet denies saying that the war would be a slam dunk, his reference was to building a case for the war. "Conservative estimates" mean, not the usual sense that there is evidence for at least some (and an unbelievable amount at that) "chemical and biological" weapons. Sitting behind Secretary of State Colin Powell at the U.N. up to that point was fine, but calling them facts? That crossed a line.

OK! My progressive spin almost missed Clark, but the term "important" over "popular" was a factor in the "Heavy Hundred", and his 1 hr time-slot midnight to 1AM may hint at that and the progressive lean of the listeners or hourly demographics. Clark is both important and popular, just not labeled progressive.*

FLIP FLOP THE LIST!
Considering these personalities and their news value, entertainment and progressive intent,Rachel Maddow (while not even found in the top 250) must be on the bench.
What I am saying is that, rounded out to a balance of sort
but with progressive and informative and entertainment value, she may have topped a list with the numbers flipped. It would be hard to say that Thom, Stephanie, Randi and Ed have any particular strengths that would flip-flop the list, other than my feeling that being progressive, informative and entertaining should be considered in that order, rather than the method used for the Heavy Hundred.
On my scale Rachel Maddow plays well off the bench and deserve her own honors, not to mention her on-air teammate Kent Jones.

But the problem always is, coming from a perspective or getting somewhere.

As reported on THE STEPHANIE MILLER SHOW(not yet a link there), Michael Moore made quite a scene on The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer over the "track record" of mainstream media, in particular CNN. To his credit, Wolf Blitzer maintains his cool under a blistering but righteous attack by Michael Moore, and promised to tape a segment to be aired unedited today. [see Crooks and Liars]

Having seen Sicko this weekend, I highly recommend it, along with remembering that this is his fourth docudrama. Roger and Me. Bowling for Columbine. Farenheit 911. and now Sicko. Now that is a track record. As for Dr. Sanjay Gupta, his bias as a journalist has been apparent to me, and now his accuracy has been questioned. In particular he points to a $7000 per person for health care in the U.S. in the movie countered by actually $6096, while pointing at Moore's $25 per person in Cuba should be $229. But I recall and Moore confirms that the movie used the figure $251, not $25.

So "bring 'em on". Along with the likes of Stephanie Miller and the rest progressive crowd.

More Vetting or More Investigations?

Comparing the urging by the Obama camp that Clinton release tax returns to Ken Starr? Vetting investigations or begging the question? If only we had a "Ken Starr" to investigate the current administration. But then only a "Ken Starr" that could stay on track. But his name should be mud and guess who just slung it. Hopefully investigations can recoop their name. A "Ken Starr" is one who gets sidetrack, from a criminal investigation, while the request for tax returns is not a crime nor accusations of one. Blame to go around?

Taking off from a Stephanie Miller topic in the background as I check the news on the internet, the topic of always having someone to blame was noted. From a Larry King show, Dennis Prager jumped on a question about the difference between Republicans and Democrats. His answer resulted in laughter, and so near the end of the show. Republicans he said are the party of "American Exceptionalism", and Democrats are the party of (blah, blah, blah...) something about "old Europe" or the French. What I am saying is that his definition of Democrats was not too clear or important, unless you take it to mean OUR ROOTS, OUR PRINCIPLES!

Now "American Exeptionalism" is not a bad thing, unless you forget that just what he forgot is important. We do have an exceptional history, and we do have exceptional potential, but we also have an exceptionally hard job, not to forget where we came from. But unfortunately by forgetting that, only the idea that we have some exceptional authority remains. That is probably where the laughter resulted. We know that for the administration and it’s defenders, they are the exception to every rule but theirs. [see footnote later]*

Whatever Stephanie Miller was talking about, sent me on the tangent and I will try to revisit the show, but it seems that the above can be tied in somehow. Always having someone to blame when things just do not go the way they are decreed. I had more to go on this, but maybe already got there. Something about the "hard work" that remains. We know that war is "hard work" and they said, "War is a last resort", but the hardest work is not getting there.

That is the irony, that there is always a last resort to resort to, if things don‘t go your way. But for us there will always we hard work, because that is what makes us exceptional.

And if I may depart on the note of an ancient comedian, "take my wife"...She might say: "Right, there is always hard work Left."

[ I was actually going to go into a more logical tit for tat on the difference between who had what to blame, but maybe I present a better demonstration of someone getting where they don’t know their going. Some just don’t want to say. Then they can declare victory when they finally define the mission.]

NOTE: It is the opinion of many that Wikipedia is not necessarily the authoritative source, and I agree, but that does mean it is without a value that may just be academic. NOT!** Another little loop here that is closed by their own admission. Which is what is in dispute: authoritarianism.
LSS:[Long Story Short] We are the decider as in a government of by and for the people, with three equal branches, each having their own hard work, separate and related to others.

** Another little demostrative irony here is that "academic" has it's own loopy history, in that one can almost see, how others may be getting it. It is the process not the end all. [Epitomized by the dispute between practical and authoritative not to mention reality.]

OUT OF THE BLUE? NOT!

I would hate to jump to a conclusion, but questions leaping out are another matter. What about Judith Miller, Matt Cooper and Robert Novak? The only one not talking is Judith Miller. She chose to protect her sources. For a journalist admirable, for a pawn of the administration, what? The missing link seems to be the two sources that Robert Novak used. One Karl Rove*, the other still unknown. Another journalist? Is confirming that one heard something from an unknown source a confirmation? Is forgetting the source a defense? Is protecting bad sources or administration leaks a journalists job? Is it job security or a defense against charges of treason?

I feel I must qualify this discussion in the vein of setting a fair playing field of semantics. Journalist is too broad a term. For I am a journalist, one who journals, not a professional reporter. Just what is Robert Novak or the likes of Armstrong Williams and others who pander to the powers that be or pay?

Another line of playing field adjustment, is the reporter and whether they actually just report or have any questions that really would probe.

Then there is legalities and ethics, well just when did Bush say his conscience was his guide. I will have to re search that guiding light. I am pretty sure I noted that it and was sometime during his first campaign but it does come up again as the adjustment is made in Bush’s view of who will be remaining in the administration or whether they need to be criminals to be asked to leave. I believe I also wondered on to the field in my concern about just what does chain of command mean these days. Those days were well before torture was a term that still needs investigation.

This is my flash analysis prefaced by the note that I have only had a quick glance to go on. I have not even opened the link but looking at only the top three in each race. Literally:

And if you can't I will be glad to continue in that, I am presuming that it is not winner take all in New Hampshire and that Obama and Edwards voters add up to 53% of the assigned delegates. If I am wrong, well you know what they say about what happens if you presume. Just like assume, you make a pres out of u and me. OK that goes over better on the screen than it does aloud, but you get the gist. Or Rather, we get to be the butt of the joke.
